FAQs
Why is my loan being transferred to Norwich Trust?
UK Credit Limited and Norwich Trust Limited are sister companies and are both part of the Norfolk Capital Group.
UK Credit previously managed two different types of loan product but, so that the companies can provide different types of customer with the products and support that are appropriate to their needs, UK Credit has transferred its unsecured homeowner loan accounts to Norwich Trust. UK Credit will continue to manage its guarantor loan accounts.
Please rest assured that your data will be protected as securely as it was in UK Credit, and your loan account managed to the same high standards by Norwich Trust as you have come to expect.
Can I object to my loan being transferred?
You can’t object to the transfer, but if you have any queries or concerns which aren’t answered here, please get in touch. We’re here to help.
Will this change any of the terms and conditions of my loan?
No. Your balance, loan term, monthly payment and all of the terms and conditions of your loan have not changed. The only change is that the lender is Norwich Trust, and this is the company who you will make payments to. You will not be provided with a new credit agreement but can access a copy of your agreement at any time through Norwich Trust’s customer portal.
What will happen with my payments?
If you pay by Direct Debit, the details will have been passed to Norwich Trust as part of the transfer. They will set up the Direct Debit to collect your monthly repayments. The amount and date of the payments will not change – details of your Direct Debit can be found in the letter that Norwich Trust have sent you. If you have a payment falling due within 10 days of the transfer, the payee may still show on your bank statement as UK Credit. After this, the payee will show as Norwich Trust.
If you do not pay by Direct Debit, you will need to change your payments so that they are made to Norwich Trust. Details of how to do this are in the letter from Norwich Trust.
Will this affect how my loan is reported to the Credit Reference Agencies?
Yes. But it should not have any negative impact. Your UK Credit loan will be marked as closed. Your previous payment history will remain visible, but Norwich Trust will report your loan as a separate new entry. The original terms such as the start date, amount borrowed, term and monthly payment will not change.
Can I still speak to UK Credit about my loan?
No, UK Credit will no longer have access to any of your information, and Norwich Trust will not provide them with any information about your loan after the transfer has been made.
Because UK Credit’s staff have also been transferred to Norwich Trust, their contact details will change, but you will still be dealing with the same knowledgeable and friendly team of people who will continue to strive to provide you with an excellent level of service.
I'm in arrears - will the transfer change my arrangements I have made with UK Credit?
No. If you have made any arrangements with UK Credit to temporarily alter your repayments, or they have put in place any other forbearance options to support you, these will remain in place. Norwich Trust will continue to periodically review any arrangements to ensure they remain suitable for your circumstances.
Will I still be able to access my loan online?
Yes. Norwich Trust has a new loan portal which you can use to see details of your loan account, view your loan documents and make payments. Details of how you can access the new loan portal can be found in the letter from Norwich Trust.
How will this affect how my personal data is used?
As part of the transfer, Norwich Trust has been provided with the records relating to your loan agreement and your application for it. It is now the controller of that data and will process it in accordance with applicable law. This will not affect your rights in respect of your personal data.
